Background
MAGEA3, also named as MAGE3 CT1.3 and MZ2-D, is a member of the MAGE gene family, which comprises 12 known genes, of which 6 are expressed in tumors. The cellular function of this family is unknown. Many publication cite that "MAGE-3 is a tumor-specific antigen widely expressed in solid and hematologic malignancies, but not in normal cells, with the exception of the male germ cells, placenta, and possibly cells of the developing embryo; therefore, MAGEA3 is an excellent candidate tumor antigen." But this antibody can get target band in Fetal Brain and Testis. Novus' antibody can recognize the target band in Fetal Liver. And the MW is about 35-55kd. MAGEA3 has been described as a cytoplasmic protein. |
