Background Information

TTYH1, protein tweety homolog 1, is a glycosylated protein composed of five predicted transmembrane segments, which belongs to the tweety family. The expression of TTYH1 is restricted mainly to neural tissue and is up-regulated in astrocytoma, glioma and several other cancers. TTYH1 has some isoforms with MW of 49-50 kDa, 35 kDa and 26 kDa.
