Background
UBC9, also named as UBE2I, UBCE9 and p18, is involved in six steps of the ubiquitin-proteasome system. It has the function of transferring ubiquitin to an active Cys residue of a ubiquitin-carrier substrate protein which will be catalyzed by ubiquitin-protein ligase E3. UBC9 is also involved in tagging proteins with ubiquitinlike proteins. (PMID:16248985) This antibody is specific to UBC9. |
