Background Information
TAF6L (TBP-associated factor 6-like protein, also known as PAF65α) is a core component of the PCAF histone acetyltransferase complex and the STAGA transcriptional coactivation complex. This protein contains a characteristic histone folding domain (HFD) and is primarily located in the cell nucleus. As an epigenetic regulator, TAF6L works synergistically with TAF5L to promote the transcriptional elongation of RNA polymerase II by mediating H3K9ac deposition and MYC recruitment, thereby regulating embryonic stem cell pluripotency and somatic cell reprogramming.
