Background Information

MARCKS(Myristoylated alanine-rich C-kinase substrate, 32 kDa ) is also named as MACS, PRKCSL and belongs to the MARCKS family. It is also named as protein kinase C substrate(80 kDa protein, light chain). MARCKS is a filamentous actincrosslinking protein that appears to function as an integrator of protein kinase C and calcium (Ca2+)/calmodulin signals in the regulation of actin-membrane interactions. This protein can be Phosphorylated by PKC displaces MARCKS from the membrane.
