Background
MMP1, also named as CLG, belongs to the peptidase M10A family. It cleaves collagens of types I, II, and III at one site in the helical domain. It also cleaves collagens of types VII and X. In case of HIV infection, interacts and cleaves the secreted viral Tat protein, leading to a decrease in neuronal Tat's mediated neurotoxicity. MMP1 is involved in cell migration and invasion, and is frequently up-regulated in cancer cells. This antibody can recognize the 22 kDa interstitial collagenase. |
