Background Information

Monooxygenase DBH like 1 (MOXD1) is a member of the copper monooxygenase family, including dopamine monooxygenase (dopamine β-monooxygenase, DBM) and peptidylglycine α-hydroxylating monooxygenase (PHM). MOXD1 is expressed during the development of the neural crest, and distributed along the olfactory bulb, cerebellum, brain stem, and parietal cortex with the development of nerve cells, participating in the basal plate. MOXD1 is highly expressed in GBM cells and can promote the growth of cancer cells (PMID: 35393406). In addition, MOXD1 is a gate-keeper of organ homeostasis and functions as a tumor-suppressor in neuroblastoma
