Alterations in expression, mutation, and DNA promoter methylation of CCDC family genes have been shown to be associated with the pathogenesis of many diseases, including primary ciliary dyskinesia, infertility, and tumors (PMID: 37182638). It has been reported that CCDC97 may be involved in Coronary artery disease (PMID: 27386823).
