Hintergrundinformationen

DNAJC3, also known as P58,HP58 and P58IPK, belongs to heat shock protein family,which is a kind of conservative molecules that expresses extensively in cells of human and animals and protects cells against all kinds of damage. As a cochaperone of BiP that an HSP70 molecular chaperone located in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum(ER), DNAJC3 plays a crucial role in ER protein folding and the UPR(unfolded protein response) (PMID:10597629; PMID:25466870). Studies reported that DNAJC3 related several diseases such as osteosarcoma, widespread neurodegeneration, diabetes mellitus, sensorimotor neuropathy, ataxia, sensorineural hearing loss and short body stature(PMID:30652414; PMID:28940199).
