Coagulation factor XIII (FXIII) is a blood proenzyme that catalyzes intermolecular cross-linking of fibrinogen and is involved in the clotting cascade. Factor XIII is composed of two catalytic FXIII-A and two protective/regulatory FXIII-B subunits. FXIII-B is the carrier/regulatory protein of its partner FXIII-A subunit.
