Hintergrundinformationen

Meikin is a conservative regulatory protein that plays a key role in meiosis. It was first discovered in mice. It is a meiotic-specific centromere protein and was named Meikin because of its important role in meiosis. Meikin's function is mainly realized by regulating the activity of Polo-like kinase PLK1. PLK1 is enriched to centromere under Meikin's dependence, which further affects the function of centromere.
