Hintergrundinformationen

NSBP1, also named Nucleosome-binding protein 1 or HMGN5, is a 282 amino acid protein, which belongs to the HMGN family. NSBP1 localizes in the nucleus and is ubiquitously expressed. NSBP1 preferentially binds to euchromatin and modulates cellular transcription by counteracting linker histone-mediated chromatin compaction. Western blots shows the expression of NSBP1 as a 55kDa protein in human bladder cancer cells. (PMID: 21695596).
