Hintergrundinformationen

NUDT12 is a member of the Nudix superfamily of pyrophosphohydrolases that has a broad range of substrates, including (d)NTPs, nucleotides, capped RNAs, dinucleotide coenzymes (NAD, FAD, dpCoA), and their derivatives. NUDT12 is active only as homodimers, with each monomer contributing to creation of the two functional catalytic pockets (PMID: 37301333, 31875550). The NUDT12 gene on chromosome 5q21 encodes the open reading frame of the putative 462-amino-acid, 52 kDa NUDT12 protein (PMID: 12790796).
