Hintergrundinformationen

Otoferlin, a C2 domain transmembrane protein, is a major calcium sensor regulating extracellular secretion in mammalian internal hair cells. Deafness caused by mutations in the OTOF gene encoding Otoferlin is a recessive genetic disorder, a sensorineural deafness.
