  Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded mouse kidney tissue slide using 67912-1-Ig (PXR antibody) at dilution of 1:200 (under 40x lens). Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 9.0). This data was developed using the same antibody clone with 67912-1-PBS in a different storage buffer formulation.

  1X10^6 MCF-7 cells were intracellularly stained with 0.2 ug Anti-Human PXR (67912-1-Ig, Clone:1G3A7) and CoraLite®488-Conjugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Mouse IgG(H+L) at dilution 1:1000 (red), or 0.2 ug Control Antibody. Cells were fixed and permeabilized with Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Kit (PF00011). This data was developed using the same antibody clone with 67912-1-PBS in a different storage buffer formulation.

Pregnane X receptor (PXR; NR1I2), a member of the nuclear receptor superfamily, plays a key role in the induction of genes involved in drug transport and metabolism. It modulates drug transport and metabolism through the regulation of target genes responsible for the transport and conversion of chemicals into metabolites that are more easily eliminated from the body [PMID: 22609277]. It is also emerging as an endobiotic receptor that regulates the inflammatory response. In addition, PXR acts as a transcription factor that activates the transcription of multiple genes involved in the metabolism and secretion of potentially harmful xenobiotics, drugs and endogenous compounds [PMID: 19297428].
