Hintergrundinformationen

PYGO2, also named as Pygopus homolog 2, is a 406 animo acid protein, which contains 1 PHD-type zinc finger. PYGO2 is involved in signal transduction through the Wnt pathway and Binds to BCL9 via the PHD-type zinc finger motif, and thereby becomes part of the nuclear beta-catenin/TCF complex. PYGO2 is in a high proportion of breast and epithelial ovarian malignant tumors and is required for the growth of several cell lines derived from these carcinomas.
