Hintergrundinformationen
RTTN, also known as Rotatin, is an evolutionarily conserved protein that is associated with the centrosome and plays a crucial role in centriole biogenesis. It is found in many organisms and was initially identified in a mutant mouse that exhibited defects in axial rotation and left-right specification. RTTN is required for proper mitotic progression, the maintenance of spindle pole integrity, and correct spindle positioning. Loss of RTTN can lead to mitotic defects, including G2/M phase arrest and increased aneuploidy cells.
