Hintergrundinformationen

Syncoilin also known as SYNC1, is a member of the intermediate filament family with an N-terminal head domain, followed by a central coiled-coil region and a short C-terminal tail. Syncoilin is highly expressed in skeletal and cardiac muscle. In normal skeletal muscle, syncoilin is concentrated at the neuromuscular junction(PMID: 11053421). Western blot analysis detected 64 kDa and 55 kDa syncoilin proteins in mouse heart(PMID: 11053421).
