Hintergrundinformationen

TLR9 is a member of the Toll-like receptor family which has been described in a wide-variety of animal species. TLR9 recognizes DNA motifs containing the dinucleotide CG (cytosine-guanine) where the C is unmethylated (CpG-containing DNA). TLR9 is expressed in a wide variety of cells such as B-cells, eosinophils, neutrophils, dendritic cells, macrophages, bronchial epithelial cells, and type-I and type-II lung cells, amongst others. Like all TLRs that recognize nucleic acids, TLR9 is confined to the endoplasmic reticulum and to endolysosomes. Western blot analysis revealed a 130 kDa band (entire form). 100 kDa fragment (soluble form) and a supplementary 60~80 kDa band (cleaved fragment) (PMID: 24582318,18820679, 21604257).
