Hintergrundinformationen
Tripartite motif-containing protein 65 (TRIM65) is a member of the TRIM family of RING-type E3 ubiquitin ligases. It contains a RING-finger domain, a B-box domain, a coiled-coil domain, and a SPRY domain (PMID: 40473847). As an E3 ubiquitin ligase, TRIM65 is involved in the ubiquitination of substrate proteins, playing a role in various intracellular physiological processes, including intracellular signaling, protein degradation, cell proliferation, apoptosis, carcinogenesis, autophagy, and phenotypic transformation (PMID: 38939997). TRIM65 has been shown to promote ubiquitination and degradation of several proteins, such as TOX4, which is involved in apoptosis, and ARHGAP35, which is involved in cell migration (PMID: 38212319; 31332286). The 70 kDa band might be the result of SUMO modification.
