  WB analysis of HEK-293 using 15444-1-AP

  HEK-293 cells were subjected to SDS PAGE followed by western blot with 15444-1-AP (TSPO/PBR antibody) at dilution of 1:500 incubated at room temperature for 1.5 hours.

  Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded mouse heart tissue slide using 15444-1-AP (TSPO/PBR antibody) at dilution of 1:200 (under 10x lens. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 9.0).

Hintergrundinformationen

TSPO, also named Peripheral-type benzodiazepine receptor (PBR), encodes the translocator protein, belonging to tryptophan-rich sensory protein family. The protein is mainly localized in the outer mitochondrial membrane and expressed in steroid-synthesizing tissues (PMID:32881658, PMID:1326278). TSPO is involved in the translocation of cholesterol from the outer to inner mitochondrial membrane (PMID:21119734). In response to injury, TSPO has a upregulated expression in the peripheral nervous system (PMID:32423330, PMID:23251719). TSPO is also as a biomarker in a non-invasive procedure including detecting the inflammation in the heart and atherosclerotic plaques (PMID:24402571).
