Hintergrundinformationen

UNC5C, also named as UNC5H3, belongs to the unc-5 family. It is a receptor for netrin required for axon guidance. It mediates axon repulsion of neuronal growth cones in the developing nervous system upon ligand binding. Axon repulsion in growth cones may be caused by its association with DCC that may trigger signaling for repulsion. It also involved in corticospinal tract axon guidances independently of DCC. It also acts as a dependence receptor required for apoptosis induction when not associated with netrin ligand. The antibody is specific to UNC5C.

20ug mouse brain cortex homogenates (lane 1 and 3: WT and Lane 2: Unc5c KO) were loaded and probed with rabbit anti-Unc5c antibody at a dilution of 1:3000 with 5% milk in TBST for 1.5 hr at room temperature. Secondary antibody was used in 1:5000 dilution and developed using ECL west femto. The only concern was that KO also showed a band albeit a faint one. WT reprised the bands showedas expected although I have concerns about bands showing up in KO tissue.
