Informations générales

ANKRD31 (Ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein 31) controls the number, timing, and location of meiotic DNA breaks during meiosis. It encodes a 1857 amino acid protein with 2 ankyrin repeat domains (PubMed: 31003867). ANKRD31 was a meiotic protein colocalized REC114 on chromatin (PubMed: 31000436). Mutations in ANKRD31 are associated with a Rett syndrome (RTT)-like phenotype (PMID: 27541642). And ANKRD31 has a high expression in testis.
