Informations générales

KRT79(Keratin 79, also known as K6L or KRT6L) is a type II epithelial keratin, which is mainly expressed in skeletal muscle, skin, scalp and other tissues and participates in maintaining the structural integrity of epithelial cells. KRT79 plays an important role in hair follicle development, and it is one of the marker genes of hair follicle outer root sheath and hair stromal cells (HG cells). Together with KRT17 and SOX9, it marks HG cells and participates in hair follicle regeneration and morphogenesis.
