Informations générales

Desmocollin 2 (DSC2) is a member of the desmocollin subfamily of the cadherin superfamily. The desmocollins (DSC1-3), along with the desmogleins (DSG1-4), are found primarily in epithelial and cardiac muscle where they constitute the adhesive proteins of the intercellular desmosome junctions and are required for cell adhesion and desmosome formation. Mutations in the DSC2 gene are associated with arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia-11.

The antibody was used to detect Desmocollin in human iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes by IF. It worked just fine, but it gave us significant background noise.

This primary antibody did not pass internal validation for IF and it did indeed not give us a reliable signal for IF of methanol fixed iPSC-cardiomyocytes.
