Informations générales
FZD5, also named as HFZ5, belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor Fz/Smo family. It is a receptor for Wnt proteins. FZD5 may be involved in transduction and intercellular transmission of polarity information during tissue morphogenesis and/or in differentiated tissues. FZD5 interacts specifically with Wnt5A to induce the beta-catenin pathway.
