Informations générales
P2RY2, also named as P2RU1, P2U1 and P2Y2, belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. It is a receptor for ATP and UTP coupled to G-proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Extracellular ATP then acts on purinergic receptors, including P2RY2, to activate proline-rich tyrosine kinase 2 (Pyk2) kinase and transient plasma membrane depolarization.
