  mouse brain tissue lysates were subjected to SDS PAGE followed by western blot with 10553-1-AP (PCSK2 antibody) at dilution of 1:4000 incubated at room temperature for 1.5 hours. This data was developed using the same antibody clone with 10553-1-PBS in a different storage buffer formulation.

Informations générales

PCSK2(Prohormone convertase 2) is also named as NEC2(neuroendocrine convertase 2), PC2 and belongs to the peptidase S8 family. It is involved in the processing of hormone and other protein precursors at sites comprised of pairs of basic amino acid residues. PCSK2 is responsible for the release of glucagon from proglucagon in pancreatic A cells. This protein has 3 isoforms produced by alternative splicing. PCSK2 is biosynthesized as a 74-kDa inactive precursor which is matured to a 64-kDa active enzyme by autocatalytic removal of its prodomain (PMID: 8397508, 21092739)
