SLC22A14 belongs to the organic anion/cation transporter family and is conserved in many mammals with 12 transmembrane regions. It has been reported that SLC22A14 is expressed ubiquitously but is highly expressed in testis located to the principal piece of spermatozoa. SLC22A14 plays a pivotal role in flagellar structure, sperm motility and fertility in mice. (PMID: 27811987, 10072596)
