  WB analysis using 14465-1-AP (same clone as 14465-1-PBS)

  Various lysates were subjected to SDS PAGE followed by western blot with 14465-1-AP (SMC6 antibody) at dilution of 1:6000 incubated at room temperature for 1.5 hours. This data was developed using the same antibody clone with 14465-1-PBS in a different storage buffer formulation.

Informations générales

SMC6 (Structural maintenance of chromosomes protein 6) is core component of the SMC5-SMC6 complex that is involved in DNA double-strand breaks by homologous recombination. The complex may promote sister chromatid homologous recombination by recruiting the SMC1-SMC3 cohesin complex to double-strand breaks. The complex is required for telomere maintenance via recombination in ALT (alternative lengthening of telomeres) cell lines and mediates sumoylation of shelterin complex (telosome) components which is proposed to lead to shelterin complex disassembly in ALT-associated PML bodies (APBs) (PMID: 26983541).
