Informations générales

UNC119b is a myristoyl-binding protein that acts as a cargo adapter: specifically binds the myristoyl moiety of a subset of N-terminally myristoylated proteins and is required for their localization. The myristoyl-binding activity of UNC119b is required to localize NPHP3 to the primary cilium (PMID: 22085962). Mouse Unc119b shares 90% sequence identity with human UNC119b protein.
