Informations générales

IL-11 is a member of the interleukin family of cytokines. It was discovered in the late 20th century as researchers were exploring various cytokines involved in immune responses and cell growth regulation. IL-11 has significant effects on hematopoietic cells. It can stimulate the proliferation and differentiation of megakaryocytes, which are the precursors of platelets. This action helps in the regulation of platelet production.
