Background Information
Desmocollin 2 (DSC2) is a member of the desmocollin subfamily of the cadherin superfamily. The desmocollins (DSC1-3), along with the desmogleins (DSG1-4), are found primarily in epithelial and cardiac muscle where they constitute the adhesive proteins of the intercellular desmosome junctions and are required for cell adhesion and desmosome formation. Mutations in the DSC2 gene are associated with arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia-11.

Reviews
What customers say
Users report mixed results. For immunofluorescence on iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes, one reviewer noted the antibody worked but produced significant background noise, while another found it failed internal validation with unreliable signal. For Western blot on heart tissue, a single specific band appeared around 120 kDa, though the signal was weak and required a lower dilution for adequate detection. Overall, performance appears application- and sample-dependent, with WB showing more consistent results than IF in these reports.
The reviews below have been submitted by verified Proteintech customers who received an incentive for providing their feedback.
Chi (Verified Customer) (08-18-2025) | The antibody was used to detect Desmocollin in human iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes by IF. It worked just fine, but it gave us significant background noise.

Kiara (Verified Customer) (07-28-2025) | This primary antibody did not pass internal validation for IF and it did indeed not give us a reliable signal for IF of methanol fixed iPSC-cardiomyocytes.

Jane (Verified Customer) (02-03-2022) | One specific band was found around 120kDa, however, the signal is weak so need to use lower dilution
