KE00591 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human RAPGEF2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human RAPGEF2. The assay recognizes human RAPGEF2. An antibody specific for human RAPGEF2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human RAPGEF2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human RAPGEF2 is added to detect the captured human RAPGEF2 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
RAPGEF2 (also known as CNrasGEF, nRapGEP, PDZ-GEF1 and RA-GEF-1) is a neuronal-specific activator of Rap1 and Rap2 and associates with the synaptic scaffolding protein S-SCAM. It is a protein that plays a critical role in intracellular signalling pathways. RAPGEF2 is ubiquitously expressed in various tissues, including brain and bone marrow. RAPGEF2 has been implicated in several cancers and is implicated in synaptic loss and cognitive dysfunction in Alzheimer's disease models.
