Background Information

ARHGAP32, also known as RICS, belongs to the PX domain-containing GAP family. ARHGAP32 encodes a neuron-associated GTPase-activating protein that regulates dendritic spine morphology and strength. ARHGAP32 also can interact with RhoA and β-catenin, thereby inhibiting phosphorylation of LIMK/cofilin and promoting epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process. ARHGAP32 is highly expressed in brain and testis (PMID: 30888095, PMID: 32205841).
