Background Information
STAT4 (Signal Transducer And Activator Of Transcription 4) is involved in gene activation in response to IL-12, and is required for the development of the Th1 cell lineage. Both IL-12 and IFNa are capable of activating STAT4. Variants of the STAT4 gene are frequently associated with numerous auto-immune disorders.
