Stability and Reconstitution

Stability and Storage Lyophilized proteins are stable for 1 year from the date of receipt if stored between (-20oC) and (-80oC). Upon reconstitution we recommend that the solution can be stored at (4oC) for short term or at (-20oC) to (-80oC) for long term. Repeated freeze thaw cycles should be avoided with reconstituted products.
Reconstitution Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the protein in sterile 1xPBS containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant human serum albumin (HSA).

Product Description

Animal-free Recombinant Human IL-2 is an O-glycosylated, four alpha -helix bundle cytokine. It is expressed by gamma T cells, CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, eosinophils, B cells, and dendritic cells. IL-2 has potent stimulatory activity for antigen-activated T cells. It is a monomeric glycoprotein with an apparent molecular mass of 15 kDa. This cytokine is produced in a human cell expression system with serum-free, chemically defined media. Production in human 293 cells offers authentic glycosylation, which contributes to stability in cell growth media.

Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is a four-helix bundle, type I cytokine that functions as a growth factor for a wide range of leukocytes. In the immune system, IL-2 is essential for immune homeostasis, normal T regulatory cell function, and self-tolerance. It regulates immune cell homeostasis and has been used to treat a range of disorders including cancer and autoimmune disease. IL-2 signals through heterodimerization of the IL-2Rβ and IL-2Rγ receptor subunits (PMID: 25992858, 24907378, 15034008, 17981641).
