Meet the Speaker and Panelists:
Afrida Rahman-Enyart, PhD
Speaker
Product Manager & Senior Scientific Liaison, Proteintech
Dr. Afrida Rahman-Enyart is a neurodevelopmental biologist by training and completed dual PhDs in Neuroscience and Psychology from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2019. Afrida then did a postdoc at Northwestern University in the Department of Urology studying the neuromechanisms of pelvic pain, specifically how the gut microbiome and microglial activation modulate symptoms related to interstitial cystitis. Afrida has over 10 years of bench experience in immunoprecipitation, western blotting, and immunofluorescence.
Courtney Wood, PhD
Panelist
Postdoc at University of California, San Diego
Courtney completed her PhD in Neuroscience at UC Riverside while studying endocannabinoid mediated gut-brain signaling and the effects of cannabis on food intake and metabolism. She is now a postdoc at UC San Diego and works on substance abuse and perinatal opioid exposure.
Riham Ayoubi, PhD
Panelist
Director of Operations, the YCharOS Project, Structural Genomics Consortium
Dr. Ayoubi is a cellular and molecular biologist; she completed her PhD at University of Montreal where she studied membrane trafficking and signaling pathways. She then joined the YCharOS initiative as a postdoctoral researcher at the NeuroSGC. YCharOS is an open collaboration with twelve antibody manufacturers and two knockout cell line providers with the mission to characterize commercial antibodies for all human proteins. Dr. Ayoubi developed and scaled up the current standard procedures and coordinates YCharOS studies.
Jannifer Lee, PhD
Panelist
Postdoc at Mayo Clinic
Dr. Jannifer Lee is a cellular and molecular neuroscientist with a PhD from the Mayo Clinic, where she focused on identifying tau protein interactors in Alzheimer's disease through tau proximity proteomic models. She began her neuroscience career as a lead histologist at MIT and now brings over a decade of hands-on expertise in histological techniques and imaging, with a particular emphasis on visualizing multiple protein markers in cellular, animal, and human brain tissue.
