Product Information

KE00400 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human Coagulation Factor III/Tissue Factor ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human Coagulation Factor III/Tissue Factor. The assay recognizes human Coagulation Factor III/Tissue Factor. An antibody specific for human Coagulation Factor III/Tissue Factor has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human Coagulation Factor III/Tissue Factor protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human Coagulation Factor III/Tissue Factor is added to detect the captured human Coagulation Factor III/Tissue Factor protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information

Tissue factor (TF),also named coagulation factor III or F3, is a transmembrane protein that functions as a high-affinity receptor for factor (F)VII and FVIIa. The TF-FVIIa complex is the primary initiator of blood coagulation and plays an essential role in hemostasis. TF is expressed on perivascular cells and epithelial cells at organ and body surfaces where it forms a hemostatic barrier. TF also provides additional hemostatic protection to vital organs, such as the brain, lung, and heart. Under pathological conditions, TF can trigger both arterial and venous thrombosis.
