Background
CD43 (leukosialin) is a large sialoglycoprotein abundantly expressed on the surface of most cells from the hematopoietic lineage.CD43 has also been suggested to be present in colon adenomas and colon carcinomas. CD43 also mediates leukocyte homing to inflammatory sites through binding to E-selectin expressed in endothelial cells from inflamed tissues.
