Stability and Reconstitution

Stability and Storage Lyophilized proteins are stable for 1 year from the date of receipt if stored between (-20oC) and (-80oC). Upon reconstitution we recommend that the solution can be stored at (4oC) for short term or at (-20oC) to (-80oC) for long term. Repeated freeze thaw cycles should be avoided with reconstituted products.
Reconstitution Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the protein in sterile 1xPBS containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant human serum albumin (HSA).

Product Description

Animal-free Recombinant Human IL-4 also known as B cell-stimulatory factor-1. IL-4 is a monomeric, approximately 13 kDa and 19 kDa Th2 cytokine which shows pleiotropic effects during immune responses. Our IL-4 is produced in a human cell expression system with serum-free and chemically defined media. It has demonstrated greater stability under cell culture conditions making it ideal for efficient generation of Human Dendritic Cells.

Background

Interleukin-4 (IL-4), a member of the α-helical cytokine family, is produced by activated CD4+ T cells, basophils, and mast cells. It promotes the proliferation and differentiation of antigen presenting cells. IL4 also plays a pivotal role in antibody isotype switching and stimulates the production of IgE. This cytokine has been applied in the treatment of autoimmune disorder like multiple myeloma, cancer, psoriasis, and arthritis. IL4 has also been extensively applied to inhibit detrimental effect of Th1. It may promote the growth of epithelial tumors by mediating increased proliferation and survival (PMID: 24489573;3049907;21663408)
