Scientist II – Assay Development and Cell Culture

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Scientist II with a strong background in cell biology, assay development, and cell culture  to join our team focused on the expression, purification, and functional validation of human proteins. This role will lead efforts in bioassay development, protein activity testing, and scale-up of mammalian cell culture processes. The successful candidate will bring hands-on expertise and scientific leadership to advance our pipeline of high-quality protein reagents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, development, and validation of cell-based and biochemical assays to assess protein bioactivity.
  • Perform cell culture on various mammalian and murine cell lines
  • Perform transient and stable transfections; develop and maintain stable cell lines.
  • Apply Design of Experiments (DOE) for process optimization in a GMP-aligned environment.
  • Use ISO 13485 standards based validation of assays
  • Statistical analysis of assay results. 
  • Knowledge of statistical software such as GraphPAD prism is a must
  • Analyze, interpret, and summarize experimental data; prepare detailed reports and presentations.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized lab environment.
Preferred Education/Experience:
  • B.S  in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field with 3–5 years of industry or Academic lab experience or M.S in any life science discipline with 2-4 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong foundation in cell biology, protein biochemistry, and assay development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in mammalian cell culture, transfection, and protein expression.
  • Familiarity with various statistical methods is a plus
  • Working knowledge of GMP and international quality standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, statistical software, etc.).
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
