Product Information
KE00710 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human CLCA1 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human CLCA1. The assay recognizes human CLCA1. An antibody specific for human CLCA1 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human CLCA1 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human CLCA1 is added to detect the captured human CLCA1 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
The calcium-activated chloride channel regulator (CLCA, previously known as chloride channel calcium activated) proteins are a family of secreted self-cleaving, and zinc-dependent metalloproteases that activate calcium-dependent chloride currents in mammalian cells. CLCA family members are abundantly expressed in mucosal epithelia and regulate both chloride transport and mucin expression.
