KE00540 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human NUCB2/nesfatin-1 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human NUCB2/nesfatin-1. The assay recognizes human NUCB2/nesfatin-1. An antibody specific for human NUCB2/nesfatin-1 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human NUCB2/nesfatin-1 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human NUCB2/nesfatin-1 is added to detect the captured human NUCB2/nesfatin-1 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Nucleobindin-2 (NUCB2) is a protein encoded by the NUCB2 gene in humans. It is widely expressed in various tissues, including the brain, pancreas, and adipose tissue. The protein is a precursor for nesfatin-1, a peptide hormone that has been implicated in the regulation of food intake and body weight.
