Background Information
PLK4(Polo-like kinase 4) is also named SAK, STK18 and belongs to the Ser/Thr protein kinase family. It plays a central role in centriole duplication and is a kinase implicated in tumor development, which is an upstream regulator of canonical biogenesis necessary for centriole formation. It has 3 isoforms produced by alternative splicing.
