  WB analysis using 86799-1-RR (same clone as 86799-1-PBS)

  Various lysates were subjected to SDS PAGE followed by western blot with 86799-1-RR (UPK1A antibody) at dilution of 1:5000 incubated at room temperature for 1.5 hours. This data was developed using the same antibody clone with 86799-1-PBS in a different storage buffer formulation.

  IF Staining of mouse bladder using 86799-1-RR (same clone as 86799-1-PBS)

  Immunofluorescent analysis of (4% PFA) fixed paraffin-embedded mouse bladder tissue using UPK1A antibody (86799-1-RR, Clone: 251472C10 ) at dilution of 1:200 and CoraLite®488-Conjugated Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L) (SA00013-2). Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 9.0). This data was developed using the same antibody clone with 86799-1-PBS in a different storage buffer formulation.

  Affinity and Kinetic Characterization of 86799-1-RR

  Biolayer interferometry (BLl) kinetic assays of 86799-1-RR against Human UPK1A were performed. The affinity constant is below 1 pM.

Background Information

Uroplakins are a group of urothelial differentiation-related membrane proteins. They are components of the asymmetric unit membrane (AUM), which forms the apical plaques of mammalian urothelium and is believed to play a role in strengthening the urothelial apical surface thus preventing the cells from rupturing during bladder distention (PMID: 8175808). Uroplakin-1a (UPK1A) belongs to the tetraspanin (TM4SF) family. UPK1A plays an important role in normal bladder epithelial physiology, possibly in regulating membrane permeability of superficial umbrella cells or in stabilizing the apical membrane.
