Stability and Reconstitution

Stability and Storage Lyophilized proteins are stable for 1 year from the date of receipt if stored between (-20oC) and (-80oC). Upon reconstitution we recommend that the solution can be stored at (4oC) for short term or at (-20oC) to (-80oC) for long term. Repeated freeze thaw cycles should be avoided with reconstituted products.
Reconstitution Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the protein in sterile 1xPBS containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant human serum albumin (HSA).

Product Description

Animal-free Recombinant Human Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is expressed in human 293 cells with an apparent molecular mass of 22 kDa. It is also known as somatotropin and is a pleiotropic cytokine of the hematopoietic growth factor superfamily. The purity is greater than 95%. It is known primarily for its role in stimulating the development and differentiation of muscle, bone, and cartilage. This cytokine is produced in a serum- free, chemically defined media.

Background

Human Growth hormone (HGH), also known as somatotropin, is an integral mitogen for development. It is synthesized, stored and secreted by somatotropic cells within the anterior pituitary gland (PMID 13975314). HGH stimulates growth, cell reproduction, and cell regeneration in humans and other animals (PMID 7079756). HGH stimulates both the differentiation and proliferation of myoblasts, and also stimulates amino acid uptake and protein synthesis in muscle and other tissues (PMID 8203982, 16332656).
