Background Information
Coiled-coil domain containing 47 (CCDC47, also known as THNS, GK001, and MSTP041) is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) transmembrane protein involved in calcium signaling through utilization of its calcium binding-acidic luminal domain. It also interacts with the ERAD (endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation) complex and is involved in ER stress relief (PMID: 28974366). The expression level of CCDC47 is associated with diabetic cardiomyopathy (PMID: 30140426). Its variant would cause trichohepatoneurodevelopmental syndrome (PMID: 38524542).
