Background Information
GATB (Glutamyl-tRNA(Gln) amidotransferase subunit B), also called PET112L, is a subunit of the glutamyl-tRNA(Gln) amidotransferase protein complex (GatCAB), which plays a role in the proper aminoacylation of mitochondrial glutaminyl mt-tRNA (mt-tRNA(Gln)). The other 2 subunits in the enzyme complex are GATA and GATC. The complex plays an essential role in mitochondrial translation and protein synthesis (PMID: 30283131, 19805282).
