Background Information

PTCD2 (Pentatricopeptide repeat-containing protein 2), a mysterious protein whose function was unknown despite the available data. Its mitochondrial localization and PPR family membership suggested its possible biological role in regulation of mitochondrial gene expression. (PMID: 36430722) This antibody recognizes three isomers of PTCD2, including isomer 1 (≈ 44 kDa), isomer 2 (≈ 24 kDa) and isomer 3 (≈ 31 kDa). Since the protein has two post-translational modifications, phosphorylation and ubiquitination, the actual measured molecular weight will be larger than the predicted value.
